Hello! I’m Dal Kular

~ a multi-disciplinary creative practitioner and facilitator, mentor, maker and writer, based in Sheffield, UK.

I believe everyone is inherently and divinely creative. That everyone has the right to write and make their hearts out. This stuff is in our bones. Inherited from our ancestors. Waiting to be expressed through us.

My work centres the spirit of ‘kula’ a Sanskrit word close to my heart (and my name) ~ kinship, community, spirituality, creative energy and connection. I love facilitating alchemical spaces bringing women-kin, especially of the global majority together in community with shared intention and purpose. Creating words and sacred makings in collaboration with our imaginations, ancestors and Mother Earth.

Workshops & retreats

My workshops, retreats and creative facilitation offerings are opportunities for folks to come together, discover their own individual and collective voices through joyful and therapeutic creative writing and nature-allied writing arts, therapeutic zine-making and mixed media textile and book arts, rest and meditation, nature and healing.

All my offerings are extensions of my ongoing personal practices centring imagination, mystery, slowness, resistance, ancestors, kula, intuition, ritual, Black and global feminisms and connection to land. I practice what I teach. My work seeks to dismantle, repair and disrupt colonial harms. It is my greatest joy and privilege to experience other folks creativity soar in these sacred spaces.

Mentoring & creative sessions

With decades of mentoring experience behind me, I’m absolutely passionate about the power of heart-centred and unruly 1-1 mentoring to guide, inspire, resist and challenge folks compassionately – to help them work towards their dreams and visions – in a discombobulated world. I believe personalised mentoring can be a force of profound healing, joy and liberation.

I also offer 1-1 creative sessions. From making personal and sacred artefacts to handmade books, zines and slow-stitched scrolls, 1-1 creative sessions are personalised to your wishes and needs from one-off sessions to a series of sessions to complete a project. From techniques to process, we’ll work intuitively and soul-fully, honouring your own unique creative process.
